According to the eligibility guidelines, these services are available to you starting from the moment your loved one is admitted to hospice. While the support is tied to the hospice journey, it includes several flexible options:
- Anticipatory Grief Support: If a loved one is receiving guidance through the Bridge Program, family members can access support to process the loss of a hoped-for recovery even before the final stages of life.
- Long-term Bereavement Care: For families of hospice patients, professional support continues for at least 13 months after the patient’s death to help navigate the first year of mourning.
- Referrals: If your loved one was not in hospice and you are seeking specialized assistance, bereavement coordinators can often provide referrals to trusted community resources that may be better suited to your specific situation.
