Hospice provides ongoing bereavement support for a minimum of 13 months following a patient’s death. This duration ensures that families receive professional guidance and attention throughout the critical first year of mourning, including the difficult period of first-year anniversaries.
Our bereavement services are designed to support your family’s unique needs through several channels:
- Proactive Outreach: The bereavement team typically reaches out within days of a passing to begin a personalized care plan.
- Counseling Options: Support includes individual counseling, regular phone check-ins, and virtual sessions to process personal loss.
- Support Groups: Weekly or biweekly meetings (both in-person and virtual) allow you to connect with others experiencing similar grief.
- Memorial Events: Families are invited to remembrance gatherings to honor their loved ones’ memories.
These services are provided at no extra cost to immediate family members and primary caregivers. Because we offer phone and virtual sessions, you can continue to access this support even if you relocate outside of our immediate service area in Ohio or Indiana during the 13-month period.
